Resize your picture in another program. It must be below 150KB. If you have Microsoft Picture It, open it in there, click "Save copy for....email or web," choose small email view. (I think. I can't confirm because I don't have that on my computer right now.) That will resize the image to work perfectly.

1. Go to "My account" (top of page)

2. Open "Image Gallery"

3. Choose "view/upload images to folder"

4. Upload Picture

5. Click "Get Image Link" and copy the code under "Link:"

6. Start a topic or reply (though you can't use "quick reply") as you normally would.

7. Click the little icon with a picture of a tree, located above the text box.

8. A window may pop up asking you if you would like to allow scripted windows. If so, click "yes."

9. Click the tree icon again.

10. Paste the code into the url box and submit. Only a code will show up in the text box, but after you submit your message, the picture will show as well.

I've been trying to upload a picture, and it won't do it. Under upload image to folder, I browse, click on the one I want in My Pictures, then click on submit. A page pops up that says "500 - Internal server error." I think this is how I did it for my avatar, but maybe I'm forgetting something. I used Photoshop Elements to resize it. It is in JPEG format. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

It's probably still to big. I've started uploading all my pictures to photobucket before I post them here, because I don't have as much trouble that way.

I finally got it to work when I resized it with shrinkpictures.com. But I think I'm making them just as small with Photoshop Elements and it doesn't work. I'm so annoyed because I have dial-up and it takes forever to upload the big pics to resize them. Maybe I'll try photobucket and see how that goes.

Do all pictures have to be below 150 KB, or just the profile pictures?

Oh, that would get frustrating. I think all the pictures need to be beloew 150 kb, through this gallery if I remember right. However, the dimensions can be larger. I think 660 pixels. on the longest size is a good measurement.

can someone help? I am trying to resize some pictures to put on here and absolutely cannot get it to upload. It gives me a message about it can only be 150 kb and so I found one that was less than that but it then gave me an error message and I don't know what else to do. So I tried photobucket but i cannot figure out how to resize it below 150 kb on photobucket.

I just right click my pic and open it to paint, then on there you can hit resize. After getting the size you want for a profile hit file then save pic to "save as". you should now have a new pic that is smaller that you can upload. hope it works

There are a few different ways to post a picture... Christy described on at the top. Another way I like is this.

1. Go to My Account. Image gallery. (You might have to create a folder if you haven't yet)
2. Upload your photo.
3. Go to the thread where you want to post.
4. Instead of typing in the Quick reply box at the bottom, choose Post Reply at the bottom right hand corner of the page.
5. Now on the left side of the comment box, under the smiles it says, "Insert image from image gallery." Click that.
6. Choose your image by clicking on it.
7. Post your comment
8. All done.

Any questions?
