I'm so frustrated with jeans! Every single pair we buy gets holes at the corners of the back pockets and at the belt loops. Mom said she has the same problem with my brothers pants. It gets old buying pants all the time, and expensive! A month ago we got a different brand at Kohls and the pockets already have holes in the back and he's only wore them 6-7 times. Saturday the button in the front popped out on that pair to, so they are done. They are not tight, because he has to wear a belt most of the time... I've been patching them and he wears them out for work, but it is a pain! What brand of jeans hold up?

My husband has always liked Levi's. They are more expensive, but I think they hold up much better than the cheaper ones.....yes, they still get those holes in the places you described, but I think they last longer. Just my opinion, tho..... I wonder if they hold up differently for different men....could be the way they fit on their body.

If you get Levi's & they get holes at the corner where the pocket is sewn on I am pretty sure you can send them back & they replace them for free. At least that is what my brother in law does with his.

I buy Old Navy Jeans for Jeremy and they hold up well. His have never gotten holes by the pockets. I normally get them when they have them on sale for around $20. I just love Old Navy!!! I've found that their pants for boys hold up very well also. I never have a problems with Jadon getting holes in his pants.

Now for his work pants I normally buy used ones at thirft stores because with his line of work he's very rough on pants. These of course don't hold up longer than 6 months but I'm fine with that when I'm only paying $3-$4 a pair. I just replace them when they start getting holes. I'm not a mender so they get trashed.

I buy jeans from Old Navy for my husband. But then again he has an office job, so he is not hard on his jeans.

Hey, I'm glad to know that about Levi's, Natalie, and we might have to give Old Navy pants a try. My hubby's pants get those holes by the pockets too, and I get so tired of it 'cause they are still good otherwise.

Levi's hold their color better than other brands also . . . My husband is a Levi fan. Recently, he took a pair that were so faded (not sure what brand he did) and died them . . . turned out nice, only problem is the thread stayed the same color and looks just a bit funny.

Ummm, Michelle, please don't trash your jeans!!! I'm working on a denim comforter for my boys, (1 for each of them) so I will take them! Thank you very much!!

My husband has an office job and prefers khakis over jeans. I will have to agree with Monica, tho, that Levis hold up VERY well! Erin still has some Levis from 10 years ago, and they are still ok. I like the looks of carpenter jeans and those are harder to find in Levis. But since he does not wear jeans that often, I can get away with the cheaper brands.

Apparently it all depends on the guy wearing them and how hard he is on them. Phil's work jeans never lasted long, but others that he wears for sports and just casual wear don't wear out very fast. We just bought three new pairs last week at Kohl's, because he finally wore out all his ones he had for Bible School 6-7 years ago. We had bought a few pairs in between. We buy whatever's on sale. Old Navy are usually 50% off on Black Friday - $15 a pair isn't bad. At Kohl's he usually gets Urban Pipeline and this time he bought a pair of Lee. His Urban Pipeline hold up very well til he wears them to work. Then it's patching time - always always the pockets. I told him I should just rip the pockets off before he wears them for work. He didn't care much for that idea!

I appreciate all this info, too... my husband likes jeans and wears them almost all the time, especially for work. But they wear out SO FAST. And always, always the holes by the pockets - ergh! I will check out Old Navy, I think, and see what he says about their jeans.

Freida, I have a whole stash of jeans that I was wanting to turn into a demin comforter too but just simply haven't gotten around to it yet. If you would like some, I could send a bagful to you.

Sounds like some of your husband's wallets are so fat they pop the pockets! JK. I've had that problem too, although not much recently. I get most of Lee's and the boys' jeans at thrift stores or garage sales, so they wear any brand.

The last time we bought a pair of LEE and those were the ones that didn't last. I think no longer than he had them I'm goin to take them into kohls and see what they say... I'm going to have to look at Old navy sometime when we are close to one. I've had some old navy jeans for Taigen already and I LOVED how they held up! Delmar preference are carpenter style but he does have some khakis that are cargo that he likes to. Lanita, I can't imagine still having pants from 6-7 yrs ago!! It must be nice! Delmar is very hard on work pants, but i wouldn't say he is all that hard on his good jeans... Once he is working in the bulk food store he won't be as hard on them so I'd like to find some that won't get holes in the pockets so quick. Patched pants on a carpenter crew is one thing, but I'd rather not in the store.

ha! His wallet might bulge on occasion, but usually its from receipts that he hasn't thrown away yet, not money. Problem is... he doesn't carry 2 wallets, and both pockets do it not just one.

I will keep it in mind. The only thing is though, since they are work pants I don't bother scrubbing out the stains. So they don't always look the nicest when I pitch them. I don't know if it would work to use the other side of the denim or if you'd be able to tell it's inside out?

My husband is a Levi's fan as well. So much that I dare not buy any other kind of jeans. Actually I don't hardly remember the last time we bought jeans. He always sends them back to the factory when they get wholes or the belt loops pop and they send us new ones. (You can't patch them and then try and send them back) Just a note on this you can't take them back to the store, you have to send them to the factory, fill out paper work, but it is worth it in my opinion. I love the kahki Levis that are carpenters. But they are terribly hard to find. Melvin has had a pair of those for almost 4 years and they are still in good shape and he wares them all the time for casual stuff.

I have a Levi lover too. Never dreamed you could send them back if they get holes. Dana says I wouldn't wear dresses that didn't fit me right and he doesn't wear pants that don't fit him right either. Well, without grumbling.

I did get him a bunch of jeans from Sears. Canyon River Blues. He hates them, but we were really tight and they were on a huge sale for 9.99. They lasted him 2 years for work and he still has some. It was back when if you spent $50 you got a $50 gift card later. Awesome deal, but a not to impressed husband.

I have number that you call and they will send you the papers that you need to fill out via email somewhere but I will have to look it up. Don't have time now but will get it to you later. No you do not have to have a receipt. I love sending a box of torn jeans only to receive a box of new ones. Just fyi we have figured out that if you only send 2 at a time you are more likely to get both back. Sometimes if you send more than that they won't replace them all. Too many at a time I guess.

This is interesting. My husband goes through so many jeans- they are always tearing at the pocket and belt. He often wears Wrangler carpenters, because he likes the way they fit. I've gotten him Levis already, and not only did he not like the fit, they wore out even faster than his Wranglers. I might have to try Old Navy. But maybe it won't matter for awhile, since he'll be teaching school and won't be so hard on his pants anymore.

What the world. I'm thinking we may switch to Levi's. Now to convince my husband. He always gets his at wal-mart or dollar general. He loves the way DG fit and they're only $6. Those generally last a couple years, same as WM that is twice the price.

I do same as Michelle. I buy used jeans at Plato's Closet (good jeans with hardly any wear for 8-10.00) he wears them out in a few months, so I throw them. Richard does concrete so they are splattered and ripped and worn.

His other pants Old Navy, Kohl's, etc or sometimes the Plato's Closet one's are so good I have him wear those until he needs more for work.

I have never had any holes (hardly ever) in the back pocket of the jeans. I really wonder what that would cause? Washer? Desk job? Billfold?

In my husbands case, it is NOT a desk job (he doesn't sit at his desk much at all) or a billfold (he uses a money clip and puts it in his front pocket). So, I guess it must be the washer. That's only option left.
