Since my name is nearing the top of the due date list, I don't know if any of you would be interested in seeing our baby room all ready:-) It's finally organized--I think. Sorry the image isn't any better colored, it's kinda tungsten-y, and the room is actually much smaller then it appeares through my wide angle lens. But this is the best i've got, so :-)
Anyway, It got painted months ago, but has been a work in progress ever since. My mother-in-law and sister helped me paint the room, and between the two of them thought up the stripes, which broke up the orange just right. yes, that is orange you are seeing, not peach. I'm not a huge fan of pastels, or themes--altho cute, and when my MIL found a brown crib @ a yard sale, instead of white, like I was originally envisioning, i thought orange would be a good color to go w/ the crib, which you can't even see much of on this image.
I, and my MIL LOVE to refinish stuff, or give new life to old pieces of furniture. So the changing table was a find at a used furniture store--something left over from the 50s-70s somewhere, it had legs and ghastly handles, and honey yellow finish, I was very happy with what we were able to do w/ it, and now I have a solid wood piece for less $$$'s then a flakeboard new cabinet would have cost.
I also painted the little pictures for the walls and the rocking chair was also a find at that used furniture shop.
so anyway, hope you enjoy, hope to have pics of a new baby to show you soon:-) sorry if this may be a repeat for those of you who read xanga.

Posted December 22nd, 2008 08:50 PM IP aw thanks guys. you are all too sweet.
Lisa, the lamp over the chair, a friend gave me. She works at a decor store, I think they were a spring item. There are some more of those lamps over the crib, that I actually like a little better, that I found at IKEA. They are more papery-like. I also got the cord/light fixture forthem at IKEA. I wanted to order a few more of those lamps from IKEA online, but unfortunately, it is one item that they do not ship, and since we live an hour away from that store (which is prly a good thing for our budget :-) ) I guess i have to wait until we do another IKEA trip.
Michelle, the rug in front of the changing table is actually a sheepskin--IKEA again. I guess from this angle it does kinda look like a bottle. The shelf on the wall is from IKEA too, and the green pillow on the chair. Like I said, it's prly a good thing that I don't live closer to that store. :-)
