I am wondering if anyone crafty can help me out. I saw the picture below, and was wondering if there is a place you can buy cheap imitations of silver beads, pearls and birthstones. I would love to make a bracelet in memory of Lauren. Since it's not something considered acceptable to wear in public, as a conservative Mennonite, I really don't want to pay for the real thing, but I'd love to make something pretty like that. Where would I look for bracelet-making supplies? I am not a "crafty" person, so I have never done anything of the sort. We have a Michael's, Hobby Lobby, JoAnn's, Pat Catan's, and maybe more in a nearby city. Would any of those places have them? Any other ideas?

I hope it's not sinful to want a pretty keepsake

it's very pretty! That is a neat idea - I am sure you could find some kind of pretty beads at one of those stores that you mentioned.

All of that can be had at JoAnn. Maybe even WalMart. Definitely Michael's, Hobby Lobby...

Just a thought, you can buy watch faces (or whatever you call the watch part, not the band) and then make your own band out of beads, stones, etc. I know that Joann's has them and I'm pretty sure Hobby Lobby and Michaels would too. I have made several watches that way.
