Posted April 7th, 2012 07:54 PM IP I was sure I had seen this somewhere else, but can't find it...how do you get rid of ants in the kitchen? They're on my counters, especially around the sink. Is there an easy cure? Amber

Posted April 7th, 2012 08:17 PM IP Have you ever heard of Terro? Here's a link so you can see a picture of it. We bought it at Wal-mart for a couple of dollars and it works great!! When I used it there would be a steady stream of ants for an hour or so, they take it back to their nest, share it and die there. You just have to resist the urge to kill them when you see a long string of them! Tonia

Posted April 7th, 2012 08:54 PM IP You can get dry granules of Terro that are in a bag. Then you shake them all the way around the outside of your house making a "barrier" that is a complete circle. It works wonderfully! I had a terrible time with millions of ants until I did that. One application lasts the whole summer usually. We get it at our local hardware store.
Oh and maybe Pinterest was where you saw it. I repinned one of your pins for ant killer - it was cotton balls soaked in something and put in a jar lid on the counter. Gloria wife to Jason.

Yep. I did that several times. It's boric acid and sugar water. I normally just put the soaked cotton balls straight on the counter or floor...wherever they are. It does work. Rose~Anthony's wife

Posted April 8th, 2012 01:01 PM IP I also pinned the ant killer recipe on Pinterest and I've checked at Wal-Mart and CVS for Boric Acid an neither sell it. I plan to check at a local pharmacy yet and if they don't sell it I don't know what I'll do. I have ants and am so tired of them! Michelle

That's why I was looking for another idea. Maybe the Terro will be easier to find

Posted April 9th, 2012 08:06 AM IP I second all the "Terro talk". I like their feeder trays with ramps up into the pan of "goodies". Very effective. Ace Hardware carries them. ~Judi
