I'm sure someone's asked before, but would it be possible to wear headphones?

Another option would be some intensely bright yellow, green or orange earplugs. When someone comes and asks about them, you say that it's the only way you can actually concentrate on work amidst all the personal conversations.

Music is a no-no. Need to hear phone and when people talk to me , apparently.

I do have earplugs. use them regularly. They aren't strong enough.

So my loosening up continues....

I am home alone all weekend long. I was supposed to work much of the weekend, and my family is off with her parents at the timeshare. However, the plans at work changed, and so I have the weekend to myself unexpectedly. You would all approve of tonight. My coworkers went out again, this time on my side of town (work is on the far side of Columbus from where I live) at a pub only a few miles from my house. So I went. Nursed some drinks again. Tried another beer, something called Stella, didn't particularly like it. Tried another thing, had only one but it was the jackpot, first alcoholic drink I have ever had that I can honestly say I actually liked the taste of. My drink when I need to blend in? Rum and coke.

But what you'd really like is that somehow, as I was leaving (getting sleepy, I now know also that alcohol puts me to sleep), they got me out on the (small) dance floor for one number. Totally embarrassed to be out there but there you go, I did it. No buzz, drove home safe, gonna go to bed in a few.

Very cool Jeff! I like that drink too, and also Whiskey Coke as well when I want something different than my usual beer.

Feels great to loosen up, it took me years to finally loosen up and I still need to sometimes as a discipline!

I didn't drink last night but plan on making up for it tonight. Either the Jim Beam & Coke or the Malibu with pineapple. I like to get nice and mellow. Saturday is my day to enjoy myself. Sunday too, but Sunday carries with it a sense of finality that ruins my mood.

Screw the "not-the-mama" face. Shut the hell up you old bat. So quiet last week. And now we're right back to the same old "HELLLO0Oo0oo0OO" shit.

Oh Drama! Last night Amy rushed to emergency room. She thinks it's tubular pregnancy. Her husband suspects gall stones. Doctors prognosis? Stomach bug. Stupid panicking drama queen assholes.

"...she woke up this morning not exactly not response, but not herself. 96.5 temp. White as a sheet. Pediatrician says come in. she took a bottle, but her temp still below 97. The doctor hypothesized that she tried to throw up and couldn't and that slowed her heart rate. I’m sure they're send her to the hospital for tests, so I'm out of here as soon as I hear from Sara (YESS!). And Sara was supposed to have her MRI today, so now THAT's postponed. wonk wonk wonk.....'

She told you she’d call you when she heard something! Stop calling in and checking!

".... HELLLOO....THEY'RE IN THE OFFICE RIGHT NOW. I RECEIEVED A TEXT FROM SARA A WHILE AGO SAYING THAT THEY WERE WAITING FOR THE DOCTOR, SO SINCE I HAVEN'T HEARD FROM HER I'M ASSUMING THEY'RE IN THERE NOW....I'LL LET YOU KNOW....ME TOOO.....NOT FEELING THE LOVE.....AND REALLY, THEREE'S NO REASON TO, UNTIL WE HAVE AN IDEA WHATS GOING ON. YEAH., SO I'LL LET YOU KNOW AS SOON AS I KNOW ANYTHING. OKEY? WE SHALL SEE. I'LL GO OVER AND STEP IN IF I HAVE TO. OKEY? OKEY BYE. "

All that dramatic build up and.....it's nothing:

....HELOOO? YES HELLO! YEAH......YEAH?...SO THAT'S IT? HE'S NOT GOING TO RUN ANY KIND OF TESTS?!?!? Okay. Yup. No.... So WHAT DOES HE THINK CAUSED THE DROP IN TEMP (GAS!)? ...... Ok. Okey.... Right. Ah. Just SEE WHAT HE PREFERS, BECAUSE i DON'T CARE. Is HE GOING TO WORK? Yeah. Alright. Okey. Okey BYE."

*Sigh*

"I don't know if I like this doctor. He thinks the chocking was because of her teething, because of the excess spit, and he said the sleeping with the eyes open are okay, so she's back to normal, her temp is back to normal, and she's eating and talking again. He says her temp went down because when someone is going to vomit their temp goes down. Oh my god. But it's not my kid. I will sit here in angst for the next 2 months until i am convinced she's okay. Now I get to tell Amy who will have an absolute fit....."

Now I prepare myself for the phone calls.....wonk wonk wonk...

Garage sale was swell. I didn't get there til like 2 o'clock (busy having sex with my wife and yard work....not at the same time), but still picked up some good stuff. 3 for $10 DVDs of Airplane, Sin City, and Joy Ride for the wife. Got a couple LPs: Madonna s/t (minty mint, playing it right now), Xanadu soundtrack, Yes Album, Johnny Cash One Piece at a Time (a rare hole in mother's collection). Lots and lots of CDs but sadly nothing I needed to own. Bought a Dylan Bootleg Series 1-3 Cd sampler, which is nice. The garage sale also had some velvet Elvis portraits, a couple Elvis posters, some wooden wall plaques....swell. Worth the trip.

Looking at the original blurb, I probably missed out on some good loot. The CDs were only $3-5 each. Would have liked some Megadeth CDs......oh well....they had all the Beach Boys 2-fers, the original 90's ones, the good ones, the ones that sound nice.....I hope some one buys them.....
